DIRECTTRANSMISSION, Hassan Khan & Mahmoud Refat (Egypt)

During the time of the exhibition, the artists and musicians, residents in Cairo, Hassan Khan and Mahmoud Refat, installed their studio in KBB. The public was invited to witness the work process of both artists who moved their studio to KBB where they rehearsed with their material, held music sessions and discussed the work created, giving rise to several spontaneous events.
“Directtransmission” was configured as an interjection between a predetermined agenda including, in addition, three concerts, two video projections and two performances by Khan and Refat at KBB.
A solid friendship was forged as a result of the project, which generated several new collaborations with Hassan Kahn in the following years and in different countries.
