KBB invites Mexico, Mexican Contemporary Art Sessions in Barcelona

In collaboration with the Mexican Consulate in BCN, CONACULTA, UNAM, Illy Café, Coronita, Cuervo, the CCCB, Santa Monica and Curator mag.

The event consisted of two cultural weeks (exhibitions, video exhibition, performances, book presentations, talks, dialogues, concerts, etc.). During these days the KBB hosted the Mexican culture and showed the works of more than 30 creators of the artistic scene of this country.

The great opportunity of the presence of Mexican artists in Spain on the occasion of the ARCO Fair allowed KBB to offer it’s space as a great platform for exchange and meeting with different events between Mexican and Spanish culture through contemporary art.

The members of the Mexican collectives Nortec, Bulbo, Radio Global, Poro and Nuevos Rico took advantage of the event to present their work during these 11 days. In addition, the program of 70 videos of young Mexican artists “Declarations” was presented at the MNCARS in Madrid, curated by Guillermo Santamarina.

KBB was a real bridge between Madrid and Barcelona, thus opening a platform to give continuity to the cultural movement promoted by ARCO in 2005.

More than 3500 people attended the various events of the Mexican sessions with a highly successful final result.
