Of Bridges & Borders Tour 2009 – 2010

From October 2009 to March 2010 we organized a tour to present our publication Of Bridges & Borders in 21 cities in 13 countries.

It started in the theater of the city of Vevey in Switzerland, with a concert by Hassan Khan and Mouse On Mars accompanied by the Argentinean musician Mirkin Frois, and then continued in Lausanne with bands from Spain such as Meneo and Internet 2 with whom we continued to tour for a month.

From Lausanne we went to Barcelona, León, Madrid and continued to London and Paris before crossing the big pond to Latin America. Starting in Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Rosario, Córdoba, Santiago de Chile, Lima, Sao Paolo, Rio and Belhorizonte. After a break, in March 2010 we completed the tour with four stops in Central America, first passing through Caracas and then going on to Mexico, Santo Domingo and Guatemala City.

In each place we generated talks, concerts, performances, workshops on self-publishing and independent culture or 8 bit music and gathered about 10,000 people in total. It was a very dynamic tour with which we achieved excellent collaborations with independent spaces and institutions such as SOMA in Mexico City, the Swiss cultural center in Paris, the MUSAC in León, the MACBA in Barcelona, Ultravioleta in Guatemala City, the Spanish cultural center in Montevideo, Lima, Rosario, Córdoba, Buenos Aires, Santo Domingo and Guatemala, the Spanish embassy in Caracas, A Gentil Carioca in Rio de Janeiro or Galeria Vermelho in Sao Paolo.

It was an excellent way of diffusion for a publication without borders, giving the possibility to each place to access our book by actively participating in the events we organized.
