About the artist:
Fabrice Gygi (1965, Geneva, Switzerland), lives and works in Geneva. He is an internationally recognized artist for his installations, sculptures and minimalist objects of a radical aesthetic focused on political and social issues. He works in galleries such as Chantal Crousel in Paris, and Francesca Pia in Bern. He has exhibited his work in museums such as the Orange County Museum in California, the Mamco in Geneva, Magasin 3 in Stockholm, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tucson and the Swiss Institute of New York. He participated in important international artistic events representing Switzerland, such as the Venice Biennial (2009) and the Sao Paulo Biennial (2002). Among his main awards are the 6th Cairo Biennial and the Swiss Art Awards between 1996 and 1998. Fabrice participated in the project of “Of Bridges & Borders” in Buenos Aires and Valparaiso, “Fokus Switzerland” in Barcelona and “Il n’y a pas d’Innocents…” which took place in “Le Confort Modern” in Poitier in France.
