Since the year 2000 Kirstine Roepstorff (*1972 Denmark, lives and works in Berlin) has developed a large body of collage work which taps into our collective conscious by re-using media imagery. Roepstorff’s collages are both aesthetically appealing, poetic, and yet also deeply concerned with political issues such as the global economy, disinformation, and feminism.

Specific archetypical characters developed in her collages also inform her artistic venture, a mechanical theater installation, “Stille Teater” (Quiet Theater), which is documented in this book edited by Agustín Pérez Rubio. The text from “Stille Teater,” as well as two essays and a conversation with the artist, are included in the publication.
