"Workingclass Today Tomorrow Nuevos Ricos" + “Terrordisco”

Carlos Amorales, (Julian Lede) Silverio, Alejandro Vidal and Jordi Mitjà presented the result of a collaboration that they carried out in the space of KülturBüroBarcelona. After the presentation of Terrodiscom on June 19, the artists held a workshop turning KBB into a laboratory where they could investigate and explore the intersections of their respective works.
Artists, all of them with interesting careers and with a wide presence in international events, shared days of work and analysis in order to develop an exhibition project whose first phase was presented in this exhibition, the result of this dialogue between artists and not of a particular author.
In this way, KBB proposes and questions the usual exhibition formats, putting into practice a curatorial project that allows the artists to explore their own limits and therefore generate tensions in their own discourses.
Project details
On June 19, 2004, ‘Terrodisco’ was presented at KBB, an almost apocalyptic event that initiated the collaboration between Mexican artists and Spanish artists Alejandro Vidal and Jordi Mitjá.
All of them are artists influenced by the culture of ‘clubs’, raves, the world of punk, etc. and with plastic research that approaches the postulates of the world of music and its excesses.
From the material generated that night and by way of documentation, the artists explore the intersections of their discourses by creating an exhibition montage that is governed by immediacy and by revealing part of the process.
Working Class today … Tomorrow Nuevos Ricos is articulated with a mural intervention of manipulated photocopies that document the action and is completed with a 60min video entitled ‘Terrodisco Fino’. From a dj set located in the space everyone can create their own hell.
